Galadriel Mattei was raised in Northern California.  Her mother introduced her to sewing, beading, and embroidery at an early age, which she continued to explore informally and avidly throughout high school.  She's a graduate of U.C.L.A with a degree in Fine Arts in Dance!  She also has a degree in Gender Studies with specializations in History and Literature.  U.C.L.A she formally studied fashion design at Otis.  While working as a costumer and stylist for commercials and print, she simultaneously began developing her hand dyed cashmere collection.
